Campground To Be Reviewed

Howard's Gulch Campground
Modoc National Forest - Devil's Garden Ranger District

Click to Locate Crags on an Area MapHoward's Gulch campground is located off of California Highway 139 approximately 10 miles northwest of the town of Canby, California.  Lava Beds National Monument is only 30 minutes away, and this could be used as an overflow if nothing is available there,

Access to the campground is completely paved, which is a rarity for this region.  In fact, the whole campground is paved.  The campground is set up in one simple loop set back a good distance from the highway.

Sites are pretty private set in dense vegetation...shade is not a problem here.  Many of the sites back up to a small creek.  Fishing may be possible in the larger creek near the highway.  Reviewed 08/1998.
