Oh! Ridge Campground
Inyo National Forest -
Mono Lake Ranger District

The Oh Ridge
camp is set in a transition zone between
high desert and pine forest on the northeast
shore of June Lake. This means there are
lots of sagebrush around the campsites.
Normally this would not be an exceptionally
scenic spot, but believe me it is. Why? You
have an obstructed view of the jagged glaciated
granite peaks across the lake. It is a
superb view, these enormous snow-clung granite
faces are framed by beautiful forested hills and
the placid June Lake (see picture). However, the back sites face
the road, do not have much shade or much of a view. So I guess the
Scenic Rating is from 2 to 4, depending on your site.
This is an enormous
campground, with 4 large paved loops. None
of the sites are directly on the lake, but
many have lake views. There is a day-use area below the
camp at the lake shore with a swimming beach. There is a general store
right at the entrance (also has RV dumps). The town of June Lake is only 4 miles away on the
other side of the lake. Reviewed 07/1998.
