William Kent Campground
USFS  - Tahoe Basin Management Unit

William Kent is located a few miles south of Tahoe City across from the Sunnyside Resort on Highway 89.  The campground is not on the lake, but there is a day-use area across the street that campers can use for lake access.  Turning left from camp can be a nightmare, as traffic can really back up here on the weekends.

Sites are haphazardly scattered among some shallow gullies and low ridges.  Some are quite private, others clustered together, most well forested.  Some sites along the edge back up to homes.  Sites up front can have a lot of highway noise.  This camp, like all at Lake Tahoe, is very busy on weekends.  Reservations are advised.  Reviewed 07/2000.
