Campground is located in the Medicine Lake Recreation Area. It is the
fourth and last camp at Medicine Lake.
After you pass the first three camps, the
pavement ends and then it's less than a mile, past
Little Medicine Lake.
Headquarters is the only
campground at the MLRA not directly on the lake. Of
course, that makes it the least popular, as well. It
is still quite pretty though, and the lake is not
too far away.
Headquarters is mostly used as an
overflow campground, but it is a good place to
get away from the crowds (relative) at the other
campgrounds. Headquarters seems like an odd name, but
it fits, seeing how it is next to the Ranger Station. Reviewed 08/1998.
