Lakeview Campground
Nevada State Parks - Cave Lake State Park

The Lakeview campground is located opposite the dam, beach and boat ramp at Cave Lake State Park.  Continue north from here on the Success Loop and it takes you over a summit along the Schell Creek Range and takes you by the beautiful camps near Timber Creek.

The campsites are spread into one loop up the hill side overlooking the lake.  There are a few scattered junipers, but pretty barren here.  Only the bottom part is left open year round.  Fishing is the most popular activity here, and the record German Brown Trout for the state was caught in the lake.

A hiking trail links this area with Elk Flat campground.  Reviewed 09/1998.
