The Christie Campground is located on the southwestern shore of Eagle Lake, right adjacent to County Road A1. It's the last camp on the south shore when heading north. Access is completely paved from Highway 44 near Susanville. The road is a little curvy as it winds over the summit to Eagle Lake, but it's easily passable to all cars and even large RV's if driven with due care.
The drives around the campground are completely paved. Sites are set up in several loops. Most sites are spaced a decent distance apart, but there a few that are close together. There are no sites directly on the lakeshore here at Christie, but some of the ones in the back of the loops have filtered lake views. The walk to the shore from these sites is also pretty short. Maybe 300-400 feet or so. There are also 9 small group sites and one handicap accessible site.
Facilities here at the Christie camp are very clean and well maintained. The campground is operated by the Lassen College Foundation for the U.S. Forest Service. This is the best campground operator that the Forest Service uses anywhere I have ever traveled. They do such an awesome job.
There is a small store and boat ramp about 5 miles away on the south shore at the Eagle Lake Marina. Here you can put your boat in the water or gather any supplies you may have forgotten. There are also hot showers available at the marina. Adjacent to the Christie Campground is a Day-Use Area that has a beach and lake access. It features picnic tables, barbecue grills and restrooms and a beautiful view of the lake.
