Lake George Campground
Inyo National Forest - Mammoth Ranger District
Longitude -119.01197, Latitude 37.60328

Click to Locate Lake George Campground on an Area Map The Lake George campground is a small little gem hidden in the back of the parking lot at the Lake George Resort (Cafe and General Store). Many people don't find this place due to it's obscure location, but it will most likely be full because it's so small and pretty.

Lake George is a spectacular alpine lake. The water is cold and clear and reflects the most awesome Sierra ridge behind it. Rent a boat and go for a leisurely tour of the lake, fish from the shore, or just kick back at one of a few lake view sites. I hope to be able to come back and camp some time but I don't know how anyone can get a site. They seem to be always full.

Sites are set up in one simple loop. Sites are densely forested in Sierra pines. Some are close together, and many have filtered views of Lake George. Reviewed 06/2000.
