Lundy Canyon campground is located in the steep walled Lundy Canyon, approximately 10 miles north of the community of Lee Vining, California. Access is completely paved, but the camps drives are not.
The camp is set up along a half mile section of Mill Creek, approximately a quarter mile below Lundy Lake. Campsites are clean, but not very well spaced out. Most are directly on the creek and are well shaded by towering Jeffrey Pines and riparian shrubbery.
Many people mistake this campground as being run by the Inyo National Forest, but it is actually owned and operated by Mono County. The camp is not as busy as most of the other campgrounds in this part of the Sierras. However, it is the first to open for the season, usually by Mid-May and the last to close, typically Mid-November. Visited September 2002.
